Photographers are truly a cosplay girls best friend. Aside from being amazing interesting people (and some of them actually are good friends) I have found they make my cosplaying just so much more fulfilling on a creative and artistic level and just on a whole. When I finish a costume and I don't have a beautiful still to capture all my work, it's really lame. I love wearing the costume to con of course, and I really haven't embraced RP as much as I should have because it's so fun (in a mature moderation ) but the ART that comes from the combination of collabritive cosplay and photography is probably a art form in itself. All cosplayers know it subconsiously but how often do we appreciate it?
My passion for photography has been growing so fast since meeting and talking to my local photogs. I probably won't get into it too seriously on my own, but I have so many ideas and visions that I want to make reality. My craving for information on the subject can't be satisfied and I just love being part of it all. As an assistant, cosplayer, model, or friend.
Thanks again for making me look cool.

Racing toward the 25th
SOOOO, White shoot is a distant memory but I finally uploaded the Behind the Scenes on my Youtube channel (search javakat343). Getting those prints out was quite the ordeal. I might have lost the Kids set when my comp crashed but if I can get them back I will upload them. In the meantime I am working on a lot of commissions for Akicon in Seattle (Oct 25th) as well as moving from part time to full time at work.
Projects:
~two Keyblades for a husband and wife duo
~Clicker zombie (Last of Us) latex prosthetic
~Gideon/Dad (Lolipop Chainsaw) jacket commission

KICKSTATER! 11 DAYS AND COUNTING!
I'm doing a fundraiser through kickstarter for my fashion photoshoot! 400 is my minimum goal and I'd love all the support I can get! Please donate if you can and want to help me produce high fashion photos!

The big question: Can we exceed the goal?
Yes! The likely hood of me going beyond what we raise and spending out of pocket money for this shoot is….. very Very likely. Because I honestly NEED more than $400 dollars for this shoot. I spent $300+ on the Camilla shoot and that took really frugal thrifty choices made to stay under that amount. I really want to push my
Daily Vlog. HA! That was a quaint idea....
So I'm a week from my Camilla D-Errico inspired photo-shoot and not only am I far from finished but I'm feeling rather slothish. The last few days HAVE been productive they just haven't felt as such. Its not that I'm freaking out. I can get it all done, its just not comfortable anymore. because I left the hardest stuff for last.
Wig styling takes a lot of patience, I'm making these giant chiffon jellyfish that look terrible and have been fighting me the whole way and anything I sew is really. REALLY shitty.
This is why I work with PROPS people.
PROPS.
Because sewing machines are MEAN. That's largely why my fingertips have no feeling anymo
Devious Journal Entry
Hey Boys and Gals! I'm quickly nearing the end of my Junior year of college at Western Washington University. I'm STILL a little conflicted as to what I want to do once I leave (having a bit of Peter Pan syndrome, definitely am NOT ready to start a new chapter in my life). I'm focusing more and more on hair and makeup (admittedly still VERY novice at hair, but I catch on quick) in my costume design major. I love costuming too but seeing myself try to pursue ONE thing is very difficult for me. I'm realizing I just like PRODUCING art, and as long as I have a hand in the creation, I'm happy. I find it usually in the photographic or film format a

Totally know what you mean. Cosplay and photography is such a wonderful art form, especially when the photographers try their best to get awesomely creative and breathe more "life" into a shot than just merely capturing the essence of someone's hard work/passion put into their costume. That's why so few of my cosplays end up in my gallery (well, that, and I often have the sad luck of not being able to get a photo taken of my costume for various reasons); I only want the best and coolest cosplay photos to be shown with pride in there, and not only for my sake, but the photographers' as well.
